Trying to recover from an addiction is difficult. Finding true love at the same time is a challenge! "Addiction" is a new short film about a young man who has to choose between finding the love of his life or battling his addictions to alcohol and drugs. The film stars director, producer and actor Perri Pierre (“J-12” and “Three of One Kind”). Pierre wrote, directed and produced the former. He earned a Bachelors degree in Arts in Drama and Theatre from CUNY Queens College. The film also stars Vicky Jeudy. She has been passionate about acting from a young age. Having studied with acting coach Anthony Abeson, she has worked in several independent films in New York City and Atlanta. She graduated SUNY New Paltz with a Bachelors degree in Drama and Theatre. “Addiction” is directed by Jabari Clarke-Pennegan. Pennegan knew he wanted to be an actor after playing Julius Caesar when he was only 15 years old. He then expanded his talents by not only working in front of the camera, but behind it as well as a director. His first job as director was for a short video tribute to Haiti titled, “The Press Concert.” Isabelle Parzygnat is the costume and production designer. In addition to previously working with Perri Pierre in both “J-12” and “Three of One Kind,” she has also designed for other films, theater and dance shows. She, too, is a Queens College student and has earned the John Darren Scholarship in Technical Design for two years. As of May 2012, she is working on her double Bachelors in Film Studies and Media and Communications.
